How do I search for and book accommodation?
NZ-Tourism.com now lists over 2,500 accommodation operators throughout New
Zealand. Simply select the destination of your choice on the map or use the

Can I make a booking directly through to the property owner?
Each Operator listed on NZ-Tourism.com offers an online booking facility and
updates its own information on the website through systems operated by Vianet
International Limited (Vianet). Whilst NZ-Tourism.com takes steps to ensure that
information displayed on the website is accurate and complete NZ-Tourism.com
cannot guarantee all information is free from errors or omissions. The booking
you (the Traveller) make utilises the Vianet booking system and enables you to
create a direct booking with the accommodation or activity Operator.
Is my booking guaranteed?
The booking becomes binding on both you and the Operator once you are notified
the booking is confirmed. You must only make a booking that you intend to use
and pay for. You must not use the website, and the Vianet booking system, to
make speculative, false or fraudulent bookings.
Are accommodation prices per room or per person?
The majority of Operators display their prices based on 2 people, per night.

How do I pay for my accommodation?
Payment can be made by credit card (Visa card or MasterCard) during booking
process. Full payment is required but your credit card will be charged only if
your booking is accepted by the Operator.
Is the payment facility secure?
All payments are processed through the Vianet secure credit card payment system.
The booking platform is Open Travel Alliance (OTA) compliant, and credit card
handling meets Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards. Booking is done
on a secure site using 128 bit encryption. Once the booking is accepted, and the
credit card is charged, the funds are held on trust in the Trustee’s Westpac
bank account. The funds remain in trust until you begin your stay. Once you
begin your stay the funds are transferred to the accommodation operator’s
account ready for drawdown.
Do I receive a confirmation letter from the property or NZ-Tourism.com?
At the completion of your booking, you will receive a Booking
Confirmation email Vianet. You should print this out and present it at
check-in. In some cases you might also receive a confirmation email direct from
the Operator with additional information including directions and arrival
instructions if applicable.
What do I do if I have lost my Booking Confirmation?
If it has not been deleted from your email you can print a new one, otherwise
the Operator will have your booking details on file and ask for identification,
What do I do if I need to cancel my booking?
You will be advised during the booking process of the Operator's cancellation
policy. Please contact the Operator direct to discuss any desired cancellations,
changes or refunds. The Operator contact details will be provided on the booking
confirmation. Note: A non-refundable portion of 20% applies to each booking.
Are babies and toddlers included in the tariff rate?
Generally babies and toddlers are included in the price if they do not require a
bed or linen. Note: Some Operators state that their property is not suitable for
children.
What are the arrival and departure times?
The majority of New Zealand operators allow check-ins from 2pm and departures up
to 10am. Note: The exact details for your chosen Operator will be displayed on
your booking confirmation. If you feel that this will not give you sufficient
time to relax and enjoy a two night stay, it may be worthwhile to consider
booking an extra night beforehand.
What is the minimum stay?
A 1 night minimum stay is required, but some properties may change it to minimum
of 2 or more nights. Hover your mouse over the calendar date for further

Are pets allowed?
There is a selection of properties listed on the website that are pet friendly.
Use the keywords ‘pet’ or ‘pet friendly’ to narrow down your search.
What is your best price – can I get a discount?
The best price is displayed on our website. Tariff rates are fixed and
non-negotiable. The tariff rate has been determined carefully by the Operator to
meet the online market which is competitive and visible.
What currency are the prices stated in and do they include applicable taxes?
All prices quoted by Operators are inclusive of New Zealand Goods and Services
Tax (GST) and quoted in New Zealand dollars, unless otherwise stated.
